Zain renews its commitment to Lebanon.
mtc touch to manage network for one more year

Beirut, March 2011: Zain Group recently signed an agreement with the Lebanese Ministry of Telecommunication to manage the mtc touch network on behalf of the Lebanese government for another year starting February 1st, 2011. This coincides with the company’s expansion plans in upgrading the network to a high-speed 3G HSPA+ network by the end of 2011, supporting the ever increasing demand for faster data services.

Initially entering the Lebanese market more than six years ago in June 2004, Zain enjoys a great position in the Lebanese market being proud of mtc touch’s leading position in attracting over 1.5 million customers representing a 52% market share.
 
To achieve such results, the company had to adopt strategic objectives that mainly focus on leadership and differentiation in the field of mobile telecommunication, whether in terms of services offered to the Lebanese customers to fulfill their needs – often being pioneers in the market - or in terms of improving the quality of its network coverage. In this light, mtc touch has set a comprehensive plan to enhance its network by expanding its capacity following the rise in the number of customers. The company has also worked on building new sites across the different Lebanese territories to improve its coverage in addition to upgrading existing sites.
