mtc touch donates US$20,000 as a contribution to equip the “Centre Medico-Social” of Ghadir-Jounieh

Beirut, June 17, 2010: mtc touch, the leading mobile telecommunications operator in Lebanon and Zain Group affiliate, has donated US$20,000 to buy medical equipment for the “Centre Medico-Social” of Saint Lourdes Healthcare Centre in Ghadir-Jounieh.

Since it was established in 2009, mtc touch has supported the centre, which is equipped with the latest medical technology to provide subsidised healthcare to the local community.

“mtc touch’s contribution, amongst many others, has helped the centre accomplish its humanitarian objectives since its establishment a year ago, a move that was described by the Minister of Health Dr. Ali Khalifeh as a milestone, recalled George Bachir, head of the centre’s supervising committee. “All our efforts and the services we are offering, in addition to the support we receive from companies like mtc touch, help provide the appropriate healthcare and medical services to all Lebanese and for that we value this important partnership.”

Ghada Barakat, Corporate Communications and Relations Manager at mtc touch, was also proud of the way the relationship with the centre has developed. “We are happy to make a difference to people’s lives,” she said. “mtc touch’s values are rooted in the community in which it serves. It is committed to giving something back to its loyal customers and contributing to healthcare is one of the most fitting ways to do this.”
