2,000 mtc touch customers embarked on the 3G Journey
After the official launch of the 3G pilot made by the Minister of Telecommunications 

Beirut, September 23rd, 2011: Further to the official launch of the 3G pilot that Minister of Telecommunications Nicolas Sehnaoui made on September 20th, 2,000 mtc touch customers- the leading mobile telecommunications operator and Zain affiliate in Lebanon - have started using 3G services for a one month free trial period. 

The 2,000 customers were chosen based on a draw system and according to predefined criteria, including the compliance of their handsets with 3G and their residence within the 3G coverage area: Beirut, part of Greater Beirut, Saida and Tripoli. In addition to the 2,000 customers, inbound roamers using mtc touch network in Lebanon will also experience the 3G services. A specialized dedicated team will handle customers’ queries to answer all their questions and assist them in anything they might need throughout the 3G Pilot period. 

At the end of the Pilot period, mtc touch will run a survey amongst the participants to get their feedback about their 3G experience and the quality of the service.

Those customers will get the chance to enjoy the 3G services with an unprecedented speed and quality performance (with a 4 GB volume) on services like High Speed Internet Browsing, Video services and Video calls. 

“3G Pilot is in line with the forthcoming introduction of 3G services in Lebanon in October 2011”, said Claude Bassil, General Manager of mtc touch. He added: “3G services will be available according to commercial schemes for both mobile phones and computers, and we are finalizing them in full collaboration with the Ministry of Telecommunications to have them released on time”. 

Bassil extended his sincere appreciation and gratefulness to Zain Group in general and the Group’s technical team in particular for helping their colleagues in mtc touch build a state of the art network, with many advanced features and a future proof capability, not to mention proper dimensioning and planning covering all the Lebanese territory within a few months.
